We're an independent Record label based in Missouri. We house some great Garage Rock bands such as The Rugs, The Guns, and Matthew Darkly. We're an underfunded , over worked group of recording engineers/musicians with a passion for music and a need to pass it on to the masses.

Grace Classical Academy – Chartreuse Moose released March 15, 2011
Produced by Grace Classical Academy. Recorded, Mixed, and Mastered by Eric Schuchmann. Additional Recording by Corey Cowan. Artwork by Luisa Cooper. Design by Katie Canada. Recorded at The Studio in Springfield Missouri, USA.
Performing on Chartreuse Moose: Corey Cowan, Jason Wead, Tyler Nelson.
We began working on this album one year ago, February 2010. It all started when songwriter Tyler Nelson approached me about submitting a demo to Moodring Records. Several months went by and I hadn’t heard anything, I figured they had decided to move in a different direction. Then one evening I got a knock on my door, it was Corey Cowan guitar player for GCA, he handed me a disc of a two song demo.
I put it in the CD player and instantly feel in love with Six Ships To Starboard (demo). So I asked them to come in record a few singles for Moodring Records. We got them in February 2010 at The Studio and cut the two singles in an hour. Things were going good so I asked them if they had anymore they wanted to cut.
Two days later we had the basic tracks for twelve songs cut. We began working on recording the overdubs and had all but a few parts recorded before I moved to Saint Louis. Shortly after that Corey and I were hired to due a US tour in May-June of 2010. After the tour Corey and I got back into the studio to finish up the overdubs and began mixing. That process took us another 6 months of revisions and reflection periods.

Lou Whitney & D. Clinton Thompson –The Book Of Matthew
(released – October 2010)
Produced by D. Clinton Thompson, Recorded and Mixed by Lou Whitney at The Studio in Springfield, MO. Mastered by Randy Kling in Nashville, TN. All Songs written by Matthew Darkly. Copyright 2010 Moodring Records.
Producer/Engineer and bass player Lou Whitney and guitar hero D. Clinton Thompson teamed up to make “The Book Of Matthew”. D Clinton Thompson hates to see a good song go to waste. With a handful of protégée Matthew Darkly’s demos that never quite fit in anywhere else, and longtime creative partner Lou Whitney at the helm, Thompson set out to make an album of quirky heart-breaking ballads and dark, but sugar-sweet pop songs.
They find the place where Burt Bacharach and Alice Cooper meet, and it’s good to be there. All instruments but the bass guitar were played by D. Clinton Thompson. Lou covered the bass. The vocals were all sang by D. Clinton Thompson except background parts on “Get A Phone” (sang by Cindy Woolf), “Love Like Medicine”, and “Moon Was A Lie” (both sang by Matt Carlock).
This is the first full length studio album Matthew Darkly has recorded as a solo artist. In 2009 Matt and Eric Schuchmann began playing as a three piece band. Matt – guitar & vocals, Eric – bass, and a drum machine. This was in an attempt to perform more of Matt’s songs that didn’t quite fit with The Rugs.
In February 2010 they began recording an album at The Studio, overdubs were done at The Darkly Mansion, and mixing was done back at The Studio.
All Songs written by Matthew Darkly. Produced and performed by Eric Schuchmann and Matthew Darkly. Recorded, mixed, and mastered by Eric Schuchmann.
